Summary:To provide an air cleaning apparatus in which an amount of hypochlorous acid to be volatilized becomes stable.SOLUTION: The air cleaning apparatus includes: a first water storage compartment 24 into which water is supplied from a water supply unit 17; and a first detection unit 40 that detects a necessary maximum water amount to be stored in a water storage container 16, and a second detection unit 41 that detects a necessary minimum amount of water to be stored in the water storage container 16, in a second water storage compartment 25 and around the second water storage compartment 25. A control unit 4 is provided that controls the water supply unit 17 by detection signals from the first detection unit 40 and the second detection unit 41. The control unit 4 includes: stopping the water supply from the water supply unit 17 when having detected the detection signal from the first detection unit 40, and starting the water supply from the water supply unit 17 when having detected the detection signal from the second detection unit 41.
