To provide an illuminating device having a wide light distribution angle over the whole circumference.SOLUTION: An illuminating device comprises a light source 12, a globe 90 covering the light source 12, and an outer member (case 80) comprising a side wall part 82 surrounding an opening end part 91 of the globe 90. An outer surface of the side wall part 82 comprises a first side surface 82a, and a second side surface 82b located closer to the side of the globe 90 than the first side surface 82a and inclined toward a position closer to the inside of the case 80 than the first side surface 82a as getting closer to an end edge of the side wall part 82 on the side of the globe 90.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】全周にわたって広い配光角を有する照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】光源１２と、光源１２を覆うグローブ９０と、グローブ９０の開口端部９１を囲む側壁部８２を有する外郭部材（筐体８０）とを備え、側壁部８２の外面は、第１の側面８２ａと、第１の側面８２ａよりもグローブ９０側に位置し、且つ、当該側壁部８２のグローブ９０側の端縁に近づくに従って第１の側面８２ａよりも筐体８０の内方に向けて傾斜する第２の側面８２ｂとを有する。【選択図】図４
