Summary:To provide an inkjet recording device and a control method of an inkjet recording device which can reduce time required until the device is brought into a stable operation state immediately after the device is started to operate, by reducing variation in ink viscosity during stoppage of operation.SOLUTION: During stoppage of operation S101, volatilization volumes of solvents included in ink in an ink container are calculated S104 using elapsed time S102 after the solvent is supplied at the last minute and an environmental temperature S103, and control by which solvents are supplied to the ink container on the basis of the calculated volatile volumes of the solvents is performed S108.
