To provide a mat material with an excellent winding property having plural mats.SOLUTION: A mat material comprises: a laminate mat, on which plural mats including inorganic fibers with a rectangular shape in a plane view are laminated, and which are configured so that longitudinal length of each mat sequentially becomes longer as they are laminated; and an organic sheet wound around the laminate mat. The laminate mat has a first principal plane whose length in a longitudinal direction of the mat is longest, a second principal plane whose length in a longitudinal direction of the mat is shortest on a side opposite to the first principal plane, a first long side plane parallel to the longitudinal direction of the mat, and a second long side plane opposite to the first long side plane. The organic sheet is continuously wound around the first principal plane, the first long side plane, the second principal plane and the second long side plane of the laminate mat. Principal planes of the mat are not adhered to each other, and the organic sheet is adhered to both of the first principal plane and the second principal plane of the laminate mat, and is not adhered to the first long side plane and the second long side plane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】複数枚のマットを備えたマット材であって巻き付け性に優れたマット材を提供すること。【解決手段】無機繊維を含む平面視矩形のマットが複数枚積層され、各マットの長手方向の長さが、積層されるにつれて順次長くなるように構成された積層マットと、上記積層マットに巻き付けられた有機シートとからなるマット材であって、上記積層マットは、マットの長手方向の長さが最も長い第１の主面と、上記第１の主面の反対側でマットの長手方向の長さが最も短い第２の主面と、マットの長手方向に平行な第１の長側面と、上記第１の長側面の反対側の第２の長側面とを有し、上記有機シートは、上記積層マットの上記第１の主面、上記第１の長側面、上記第２の主面及び上記第２の長側面に連続的に巻き付けられており、マットの主面間同士は接着されておらず、かつ、上記有機シートは、上記積層マットの上記第１の主面と上記第２の主面の両方に接着されており、上記第１の長側面及び上記第２の長側面には接着されていないことを特徴とする。【選択図】図１
