To provide a fuel oil composition for an internal combustion engine having excellent filtration ability, a high calorific value contributing to fuel economy, and excellent environment performance and combustion performance.SOLUTION: A fuel oil composition for an internal combustion engine contains a light oil fraction of catalytic cracking having specific properties of 25.0 vol% or more and 65.0 vol% or less based on the total amount of the composition. The composition satisfies all items of following (1)-(6): (1) sulfur content of 0.400 mass% or less, (2) flow point of 15.0°C or lower, (3) total calorific value of 40,350 (kJ/L) or more, (4) kinematic viscosity at 50°C of 5.000 mm2/s or more and 30.00 mm2/s or less, (5) CCAI of 850 or less, and (6) existent sediment of 0.05 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】優れたろ過性能とともに、高い発熱量を有することで燃費改善に寄与し、また優れた環境性能及び燃焼性能を有する内燃機用燃料油組成物を提供する。【解決手段】特定の性状を有する接触分解軽油留分を、組成物全量基準の含有量として２５．０容量％以上６５．０容量％以下で含み、次の（１）〜（６）、すなわち、（１）硫黄分含有量が０．４００質量％以下、（２）流動点が１５．０℃以下、（３）総発熱量が４０，３５０（ｋＪ／Ｌ）以上、（４）５０℃における動粘度が５．０００ｍｍ２／ｓ以上３０．００ｍｍ２／ｓ以下、（５）ＣＣＡＩが８５０以下及び（６）実在セジメントが０．０５質量％以下をいずれも満足する内燃機用燃料油組成物である。【選択図】なし
