Summary:To provide a technique for replenishing a gap in a space between tanks with pearlite while suppressing reduction of the degree of vacuum in the space between the inner and outer tanks in a vacuum double shell tank.SOLUTION: The vacuum double shell tank comprises: an inner tank for storing a liquid in a sealed state; an outer tank for covering the inner tank with a prescribed gap; and particle pearlite filled in a space between the tanks is vacuum. Replenishing pearlite is supplied to the space between the tanks by communicating a gap part generated due to precipitation of the pearlite in the space between the tanks with the inside of a pearlite replenishing container having the replenishing pearlite sealed therein and higher in pressure than the space between the tanks.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】真空二重殻タンクにおいて、内槽と外槽との槽間空間の真空度の低下を抑えつつ、槽間空間の空隙部分にパーライトを補充する技術を提供する。【解決手段】液体を密閉した状態で貯蔵する内槽と、内槽を所定間隔を隔てて覆う外槽と、内槽と外槽との槽間空間に充填された粒状のパーライトとを有し、槽間空間が真空である真空二重殻タンクにおいて、槽間空間を強制排気しながら、槽間空間においてパーライトの沈降により生じた空隙部分と、補充用パーライトが封入され且つ槽間空間よりも高圧のパーライト補充容器内とを連通させることにより、槽間空間へ補充用パーライトを供給する。【選択図】図1
