Summary:To simplify a structure of an internal combustion engine by effectively using a positioning protrusion and a positioning hole for exactly positioning and fixing a head cover to a cylinder head.SOLUTION: A positioning hole 21 is formed at a part of a region which is shifted to an external periphery of a cylinder head 1, and on the other hand, a positioning protrusion 23 tightly fit into the positioning hole 21 is protrusively formed at a head cover 9. The positioning protrusion 23 is formed into a cylindrical shape having a hollow hole 24 which is opened in a vertical direction, and on the other hand, an oil level gauge insertion hole 28 which is opened toward an oil pan is formed at the second positioning hole 21 of the cylinder head 1. The positioning protrusion 23 of the head cover 9 is used as an attachment part of the oil valve gauge 27, thus simplifying structures of the head cover 9 and the cylinder head 1, and contributing to cost reduction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】ヘッドカバーをシリンダヘッドに正確に位置決めして固定するための位置決め突起及び位置決め穴を有効利用して、内燃機関の構造を簡単化する。【解決手段】シリンダヘッド1のうち外周寄り部位の一部に位置決め穴21が形成されている一方、ヘッドカバー9には、位置決め穴21に密嵌する位置決め突起23が突設されている。位置決め突起23は、上下に開口した中空穴24を有する筒状になっている一方、シリンダヘッド1の第2位置決め穴21には、オイルパンに向けて開口したオイルレベルゲージ挿通穴28が空いている。ヘッドカバー9の位置決め突起23が、オイルレベルゲージ27の取付け部として使用される。従って、ヘッドカバー9及びシリンダヘッド1の構造を簡単化して、コストダウンに貢献できる。【選択図】図4
