To allow credit settlement to be performed without largely changing an existing credit settlement mechanism and further to reduce risk of card data to be known to a third person.SOLUTION: A settlement system includes: a receipt server 30 having storage means, second acquisition means, and first and second notification means; and a POS terminal 10 having first and third acquisition means, and requesting means. The storage means stores a coordination code in association with a user code. The first and second acquisition means and the first notification means notify a credit server 40 of the coordination code associated, by the storage means, with the user code of the user conducting settlement.
