Summary: | To provide a novel laminated front panel used to be disposed on a viewing side in a liquid crystal display device having a polarizing plate on the viewing side, the laminated front panel being capable of configuring a liquid crystal display device capable of ensuring visibility of the device even when the device is observed by wearing polarizing sunglasses.SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal cell A, a polarizing plate B disposed on a viewing side of the liquid crystal cell A, and a backlight light source C having a continuous emission spectrum, a laminated front panel is disposed on a viewing side of the polarizing plate B and is used. In the laminated front panel, a retardation film E is arranged, where the retardation film is directly joined to a rear surface side of an injection molding layer D and has an in-plane retardation ReE satisfying 3000 nm<ReE≤100000 nm, the retardation film is arranged so that an angle between a slow axis of the retardation film and an absorption axis of the polarizing plate B is 35° to 55°, and a retardation ReH of the laminated front panel in an image display region satisfies 3000 nm≤ReH.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】視認側に偏光板を有する液晶表示装置において、視認側に配置して使用する積層フロントパネルに関し、偏光サングラスを装着して観察した場合でも、視認性を確保することができる液晶表示装置を構成することができる新たな積層フロントパネルを提供する。【解決手段】液晶セルAと、視認側に配された偏光板Bと、連続的な発光スペクトルを有するバックライト光源Cと、を備えた液晶表示装置において、偏光板Bの視認側に配置して使用する積層フロントパネルであって、射出成形層Dの裏面側に直接接合された、3000nm<ReE≦100000nmを満たす面内位相差ReEを有する位相差フィルムEを配すると共に、且つ、位相差フィルムの遅相軸と偏光板Bの吸収軸とのなす角度が35〜55°となるように配し、且つ、画像表示領域における積層フロントパネルの位相差ReHが3000nm≦ReHを満たすことを特徴とする積層フロントパネル。【選択図】図3 |
