Summary:To provide an article inspection device with which it is possible to significantly lighten the load of a worker needed for preventing defective goods from flowing out at the time a device defect occurs and effectively prevent a decrease in productivity.SOLUTION: Provided is an article inspection device having a measurement unit 11 for outputting a weight measurement signal within a required measurement time from a loaded time when the weight of an article W is loaded and inspecting the article W on the basis of the measurement signal. The article inspection device comprises: an electromagnetic coil 84 for loading a weight for diagnosis on the measurement unit 11; and a performance diagnosis unit 18 which, when the weight of the article W is loaded on the measurement unit 11, causes the load for diagnosis to be loaded on the measurement unit 11 from the electromagnetic coil 84 within a prescribed diagnosable time from the loaded time, which is longer than the required measurement time, and diagnoses the performance of the measurement unit 11 on the basis of the measurement signal of weight of the article W and the measurement signal of the load for diagnosis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】装置不良の発生時に不良品の流出防止に要する作業者の負荷を大幅に軽減でき、かつ、生産性の低下を有効に防止することができる物品検査装置を提供する。【解決手段】物品Wの重量が負荷されたときその負荷時点から所要測定時間内に重量の計量信号を出力する計量部11を有し、計量信号に基づいて物品Wを検査する物品検査装置であって、計量部11に診断用の荷重を負荷する電磁コイル84と、物品Wの重量が計量部11に負荷されたとき、その負荷時点から所要測定時間より長い所定の診断可能時間内に、電磁コイル84から計量部11に診断用の荷重を負荷させ、物品Wの重量の計量信号と診断用の荷重の計量信号とに基づいて計量部11の性能を診断する性能診断部18と、を備えている。【選択図】図1
