Summary:To improve insulation resistance between electrodes by preventing hot gas from being directly exhausted to a high electric field part even if the hot gas is leaked from a gap between a fixed-side main contact and an insulation nozzle.SOLUTION: A gas circuit breaker comprises: a main contact constituted of a movable-side main contact and a fixed-side main contact which are disposed opposite inside of a gas tank so as to perform electrode opening and electrode closing operation; a pair of fixed-side and movable arc contacts for generating an arc by electrifying a current after separation of the main contact; a puffer cylinder coaxially provided in an outer periphery of the movable arc contact; a puffer chamber constituted of the puffer cylinder, a piston and a hollow rod; and an insulation nozzle forming a space communicating with the puffer chamber. The gas circuit breaker is characterized in providing a structure protruding in a radial direction oppositely to gas which is formed between the fixed-side main contact and the insulation nozzle, in an outer peripheral part of the insulation nozzle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】固定側主接触子と絶縁ノズルの間に生じた隙間から熱ガスが漏れても高電界部に直接排出されることはなく、極間の絶縁耐力を向上させることができること。【解決手段】本発明のガス遮断器は、上記課題を解決するために、ガスタンク内に開極及び閉極動作を可能に対向配置した可動側主接触子と固定側主接触子からなる主接点と、該主接点の開離後に電流を通電し、アークを発生させる一対の固定側及び可動アーク接触子と、前記可動アーク接触子の外周に同軸上に設けられたパッファシリンダと、該パッファシリンダとピストン及び中空ロッドによって構成されるパッファ室と、該パッファ室に連通する空間を形成する絶縁ノズルとを備えたガス遮断器であって、前記絶縁ノズルの外周部に、前記前記固定側主接触子と前記絶縁ノズル間に形成される隙間に対向して径方向に突出する構造物を設けたことを特徴とする。【選択図】図3
