Summary:To provide a power conversion device for wind power generation systems which is capable of suppressing reduction in the lifetime of a windmill mechanical system component and improves efficiency and reliability while suppressing reduction in a utilization rate of a windmill, the power conversion device for wind power generation system being linked to a power system, and a control method therefor.SOLUTION: A power conversion device comprises: a first power converter for converting AC power in a variable frequency outputted by a generator which is connected to a shaft of a windmill, into DC power; a second power converter by which the DC power is converted into AC power in a commercial frequency and supplied to a power system; a DC power controller which is connected between the first power converter and the second power converter and controls the DC power; and a control unit which controls the DC power controller on the basis of the AC power in the variable frequency and the AC power in the commercial frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】電力系統に連系する風力発電システム向け電力変換装置において、風力の利用率低下を抑制しつつ、風車機械系部品の寿命低下を抑制可能な高効率で信頼性の高い風力発電システム向け電力変換装置とその制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】風車の軸に接続された発電機の出力する可変周波数の交流電力を直流電力に変換する第1の電力変換器と、前記直流電力を商用周波数の交流電力に変換して電力系統に供給する第2の電力変換器と、前記第1の電力変換器と前記第2の電力変換器の間に接続され、前記直流電力を制御する直流電力制御器と、前記可変周波数の交流電力および前記商用周波数の交流電力に基づき、前記直流電力制御器を制御する制御部と、を備えることを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
