Summary:To provide a method that can efficiently inspect residual foreign matters on a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: A method of forming an uneven shape on a surface of a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor by making a mold member having an uneven shape contact with the surface of the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor formed by providing a photosensitive layer on a cylindrical support and pressurizing the mold member onto the surface, and rotating the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction has an inspection process of inspecting residual foreign matters in or on the photosensitive layer before forming the uneven shape.
