To obtain a novel damper which can suppress the occurrence of a gap between a first sliding surface of a lining plate of a limiter and a second sliding face of a cover plate thereof.SOLUTION: In this damper, a limiter has: a lining plate having a first sliding surface which is oriented to a first direction along an axial direction, and applied with surface hardening treatment; a first cover plate having a second sliding surface contacting with the first sliding surface, and a first abutment face located radially outward of the second sliding surface, and oriented to a second direction opposite to the first direction; a second cover plate having an outer edge having a second abutment surface abutting on the first abutment surface, and connected to the first cover plate, and an inner edge protruding radially inward of the outer edge, and located at a side opposite to and apart from the first cover plate of the lining plate; and a biasing member disposed between the inner edge and the lining plate, and pressing the first sliding surface to the second sliding surface. The second sliding surface is inclined to the first abutment surface so as to progress toward the second direction as progressing radially inward in a free state of the first cover plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】リミッタにおけるライニングプレートの第一摺動面とカバープレートの第二摺動面との間に隙間が生じることを抑制できる新規なダンパを得る。【解決手段】実施形態のダンパでは、リミッタは、軸方向に沿う第一方向を向き表面硬化処理された第一摺動面を有したライニングプレートと、第一摺動面と接した第二摺動面と、第二摺動面よりも径方向外方に位置され第一方向とは反対の第二方向を向いた第一当接面と、を有した第一カバープレートと、第一当接面と当接した第二当接面を有し第一カバープレートと結合された外縁部と、外縁部から径方向内方に突出しかつライニングプレートの第一カバープレートとは反対側に離れて位置された内縁部と、を有した第二カバープレートと、内縁部とライニングプレートとの間に設けられ、第一摺動面を第二摺動面に押し付ける付勢部材と、を有し、第二摺動面は、第一カバープレートの自由状態において、径方向内方に向かうにつれて第二方向に向かうように第一当接面に対して傾斜している。【選択図】図４
