Summary:To provide a fused polycyclic organic pigment having excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability, and more specifically to provide a fused polycyclic organic pigment having realized a viscosity which imparts practically sufficient printability to an ink in terms of both (1) an initial viscosity of an ink and (2) a viscosity of the ink over time, when it is used in printing ink applications.SOLUTION: In order to find a fused polycyclic organic pigment exhibiting excellent fluidity, a plurality of components in a printing ink have been studied intensively. As a result, it has been found that the above problems can be solved by modifying the surface of pigment particles and adjusting the specific contact angles of water and organic solvent, and adjusting the concentration of oxygen element on the surface of pigment particles to a specific value.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】 優れた分散性と分散安定性を有する縮合多環系有機顔料を提供することにある。より具体的には、印刷インキ用途に使用する際の(1)インキの初期粘度、(2)インキの経時粘度の何れにおいても実用上十分な印刷適性を付与する粘度が達成された縮合多環系有機顔料を提供することにある。【解決手段】 優れた流動性を示す縮合多環系有機顔料を見出すべく、印刷インキ中の複数の成分間の相互作用を鋭意検討した結果、顔料粒子表面を改質し、水及び有機溶剤に対しそれぞれ特定の接触角を有し、かつ、顔料粒子表面の酸素元素濃度を特定の値となるよう調整することで前記課題を解決できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。【選択図】なし
