Summary:To solve the problem that in order to suppress problem occurrence by variation in the quantity of light of each dot of an optical head, conventionally, correction to adjust the quantity of light is previously performed for each of the dots; however, when printing density is changed, new printing density unevenness caused by the correction is occasionally generated.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of LEDs 110 arrayed in a predetermined direction; an exposure head 15 having a rod lens array 103 having a plurality of lenses condensing light of the LEDs; and light emission control parts (41 and 46) controlling a light emission amount in light emission, in which the light emission control parts (41 and 46) include a first correction value a(k)(k=1 to n) and a second correction value b(k)(k=1 to n) that determine a light emission increase/decrease amount of the individual LEDs to the average light emission amount in the light emission of the plurality of LEDs 110, selects either one of the correction values according to the level of the average light emission amount, and controls the light emission of the plurality of LEDs 110 on the basis of the selected correction value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】従来、光学ヘッドの各ドットの光量のバラツキによる問題発生を抑制するため、予めドット毎に光量を調整する補正が行われている。しかしながら、印刷濃度を変えると、その補正に起因する新たな印刷濃度ムラが発生する場合があった。【解決手段】所定方向に配列された複数のLED110と、LEDの光を集光する複数のレンズを有するロッドレンズアレイ103とを有する露光ヘッド15と、複数のLEDの発光と、発光時の発光量を制御する発光制御部(41,46)とを備え、発光制御部(41,46)は、複数のLED110の発光時の平均発光量に対する個々のLEDの発光増減量を定める第1の補正値a(k)(k=1〜n)と第2の補正値b(k)(k=1〜n)を備え、平均発光量のレベルに応じて、どちらかの補正値を選択し、選択した補正値に基づいて、複数のLED110を発光制御する。【選択図】図2
