Summary:To provide a technique for suppressing undesirable influence by a molten material, which occurs due to melting of a weldment by frictional heat, as much as possible, when joining the weldment to an object by friction welding.SOLUTION: A surface structure for friction welding, which is formed in a vicinity of a contact region contacting with an object having a prescribed welding surface in a weldment welded to the object by friction welding, comprises: a weldment body part; a contact part which is positioned at a closed specified end of the body part so as to contact the prescribed welding surface of the object when friction welding, is formed so as to be molten by friction welding, and annularly extends at the specified end of the body part in a circumferential direction thereof, or intermittently extends in the circumferential direction; and a first space which is surrounded by the specified end of the body part and the contact part and is formed inside the contact part, and opens to the object side when friction welding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】摩擦圧接により対象物に対して溶接物を接合する際に、当該溶接物が摩擦熱により溶融することで生じる溶融物による好ましくない影響を可及的に抑制する技術を提供する。【解決手段】所定の溶接面を有する対象物に対して摩擦圧接により溶接される溶接物において、該対象物と接触する接触領域近傍に形成される、摩擦圧接のための表面構造であって、溶接物の本体部と、摩擦圧接の際に対象物の所定の溶接面と接触するように本体部の閉じられた所定端部に位置し、摩擦圧接により溶融するように形成された接触部であって、該本体部の所定端部においてその周方向に環状に延在し、又は、その周方向に断続的に延在する接触部と、本体部の所定端部と接触部とに囲まれ該接触部の内側に形成され、摩擦圧接の際に対象物側に開口する第1空間と、を備える。【選択図】図1
