Summary: | To improve heat resistance and dissolution stability of a zinc carboxylate salt in the application where a zinc carboxylate salt is used by dissolving in a solvent.SOLUTION: There is provided a carboxylic acid constituting a zinc carboxylate salt which comprises 0.5 to 6.0 mass% of a component (A), 0.05 to 1.2 mass% of a component (B) and 88.0 to 98.0 mass% of a component (C), wherein the mass ratio [(A)/(B)] of the component (A) to the component (B) is 99/1 to 75/25: (A) a straight-chain saturated carboxylic acid having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, (B) a straight-chain unsaturated carboxylic acid having 18 carbon atoms and having one unsaturated bond, which is a trans-type double bond and (C) a straight-chain unsaturated carboxylic acid having 18 carbon atoms and having one unsaturated bond, which is a cis-type double bond.SELECTED DRAWING: None
