To provide a reader and a program that allow a cash voucher to be held at an appropriate position.SOLUTION: A reader includes imaging control means, similarity calculation means, extraction means, and display control means. The imaging control means causes an imaging part to capture an image. The similarity calculation means calculates the similarity between a feature amount of each type of cash voucher stored in a storage part and the feature amount extracted from the image of the cash voucher captured by the imaging part. The extraction means extracts cash voucher candidates captured by the imaging part based on the similarity calculated by the similarity calculation part.
