Summary: | To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition having a negative dielectric anisotropy (Δε), satisfying such properties generally required for a liquid crystal composition, as display in a wide temperature range, low-voltage driving property and fast responsiveness, as well as achieving no or extremely few display defects when used in a liquid crystal display element, and a liquid crystal display element having a narrow frame by using the above liquid crystal composition.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition having a negative dielectric anisotropy (Δε) is provided, which comprises one or at least two compounds selected from compounds represented by general formula (N-1) and one or at least two polymerizable compounds. 【課題】本発明の課題は、誘電率異方性(Δε)が負であり、通常液晶組成物に求められる広い温度範囲での表示、低電圧駆動性及び高速応答性を満たしつつ、液晶表示素子とした際に表示不良が無いか極めて少ない重合性液晶組成物を提供することであり、該液晶組成物を用いた狭額縁化した液晶表示素子を提供することにある。【解決手段】 一般式(N−1)で表される化合物から選ばれる化合物を1種又は2種以上及び重合性化合物を1種又は2種以上含有する誘電率異方性(Δε)が負の液晶組成物を提供し、併せて液晶組成物を用いた液晶表示素子を提供する。【選択図】 図1 |
