To provide a curable gel nail composition capable of forming a gel nail that is easy to spread wet on a nail surface, and is excellent in adhesion between a nail and a cured coating film and in durability, and also to provide a method of forming a gel nail that is easy to spread wet on a nail surface, and is excellent in adhesion between a nail and a cured coating film and in durability.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of forming a gel nail, the method using (1) a curable gel nail composition having a cured coating film with a water contact angle of 77° or more and a viscosity of 35 Pa s or less, (2) a gel nail base layer whose cured coating film has a water contact angle of 77° or more, and (3) the water contact angle of the cured coating film provided on the nail of 77° or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】爪表面に対し濡れ広がりやすく、爪と硬化塗膜との密着性に優れ、持ちのよいジェルネイルを構成することのできる硬化性ジェルネイル組成物を得ること、また、爪の上にジェルネイルを設ける方法において、爪表面に対し濡れ広がりやすく、爪と硬化塗膜との密着性に優れ、持ちのよいジェルネイルを構成するための方法を得ること。【解決手段】以下の構成とする。（１） 硬化塗膜の水接触角が７７°以上であり、粘度が３５Ｐａ・ｓ以下である硬化性ジェルネイル組成物（２） 硬化塗膜の水接触角が７７°以上のジェルネイルベース層（３） 爪の上に設けられる硬化塗膜の水接触角を７７°以上とする、爪の上にジェルネイルを設ける方法【選択図】なし
