Summary:To provide an optical fiber overcoat wire having an overcoat layer excellent in coating removal performance, and in addition, having a repeated bending property when connectors and the like are connected, and an optical fiber cord including the overcoat wire.SOLUTION: In an optical fiber overcoat wire 1, silicone compound 4 with viscosity in a prescribed range is provided between an optical fiber coloring wire 2 and an overcoat layer 3 in a longitudinal direction of the overcoat wire 1. Therefore, maximal value of coating removal force when the overcoat layer 3 is cut in a length of 160 mm can be set within a proper range, thus the overcoat layer 3 can be quickly removed from the optical fiber coloring wire 2, resulting in excellent coating removal performance of the overcoat layer 3. In addition, since polyol of oligomer forming the overcoat layer 3 is composed of polytetramethylene glycol, the tough optical fiber overcoat wire 1 with repeated bending property when the connectors and the like are connected is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】オーバーコート層の被覆除去性が良好であることに加え、コネクタ等を接続した際の繰り返し曲げ特性を備えた光ファイバオーバーコート心線及び当該オーバーコート心線を備えた光ファイバコードを提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の光ファイバオーバーコート心線1は、光ファイバ着色心線2とオーバーコート層3との間に粘度が所定範囲のシリコーン化合物4をオーバーコート心線1の長手方向に介在させているため、オーバーコート層3を、例えば長さ160mm除去する際の被覆除去力の最大値を適正な範囲とすることができ、オーバーコート層3が光ファイバ着色心線2との間で速やかに除去され、オーバーコート層3の被覆除去性が良好である。さらに、オーバーコート層3を形成するオリゴマーのポリオールがポリテトラメチレングリコールからなるので、コネクタ等を接続した際の繰り返し曲げ特性を備えた強靭な光ファイバオーバーコート心線1となる。【選択図】図1
