Summary:To provide an optical transceiver and a method for building the optical transceiver which can prevent breakage of an internal optical fiber when the optical transceiver is built and can contain the optical fiber efficiently.SOLUTION: The optical transceiver according to an embodiment includes: an optical module 12 for sending or receiving an optical signal; a receptacle 4 for receiving an external optical connector and sending or receiving an optical signal to or from the outside through the optical connector; an optical fiber 11 having a length set to a predetermined value, the optical fiber optically connecting the optical module 12 and the receptacle 4 to each other; a fiber tray 15 located between the receptacle 4 and the optical module 12, the fiber tray holding the optical fiber 11 being wound in the shape of a circle; and a circuit board 13 equipped with the optical module 12. The receptacle 4 and the optical fiber 11 are movable in a direction D2, which is the width direction of the optical transceiver 1, to the fiber tray 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】組み立て時の内部の光ファイバの損傷を防止することができると共に、光ファイバを効率よく収納することができる光トランシーバ及び組立方法を提供する。
