Summary:To provide a lighting fixture for vehicle which can suppress consumption power in total while increasing an amount of light in a high mode, and a method for control of the same.SOLUTION: A lighting fixture for vehicle comprises: a low beam unit (40) which has a first light emission part (43), and radiates light only below a cutoff line; a high beam unit (30) which has a second light emission part (33), and radiates light also above the cutoff line; and a lighting control part (60) which controls lighting of the low beam unit (40) and the high beam unit (30). The lighting control part (60) controls switching between a low mode in which the low beam unit (40) is turned on and the high beam unit (30) is turned off, and a high mode in which the low beam unit (40) and the high beam unit (30) are turned on.
