Summary: | To provide a light source device and a projector that are superior in cooling performance.SOLUTION: A light source device according to the present invention has: a circuit board having a first surface and a second surface provided at an opposite side of the first surface; a plurality of light-emitting elements provided on the first surface of the circuit board; a frame body provided on the first surface of the circuit board so as to surround the plurality of light-emitting elements; and a lid body including a translucent member that transmits light incident from the plurality of light-emitting elements, provided so as to face toward the first surface of the circuit board, and joined at an opposite side of the circuit board of the frame body. The light source device also comprises: a light-emitting device for accommodating the plurality of light-emitting elements in an accommodation space formed by the circuit board, the frame body, and the lid body; an optical element for receiving incident light; a retaining member for retaining the optical element; and a heat radiation member connected thermally to the second surface of the circuit board and fixed to the retaining member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
