Summary: | To enhance accuracy in failure diagnosis of a cylinder internal pressure sensor.SOLUTION: A failure diagnosis device 100 for a cylinder internal pressure sensor includes a cylinder internal pressure sensor SW6, and a diagnosis section 111 for diagnosing the failure of the cylinder internal pressure sensor. The diagnosis section includes a reading section 1111 for reading a signal of the cylinder internal pressure sensor within a specified crank angle region, a reference phase determination section 1116 for determining a reference phase which is the phase of the pressure change accompanied by the volume change of a combustion chamber 17, and a failure determination section 1112 for determining the failure of the cylinder internal pressure sensor when the phase of the signal of the cylinder internal pressure sensor read by the reading section is delayed beyond a predetermined threshold with respect to the reference phase determined by the reference phase determination section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
