Summary:To provide a charging apparatus that can tear off dust adhering to an earth electrode by self purification.SOLUTION: A charging apparatus 10, which electrically charges dust included in dust-containing air by corona-discharge while circulating the dust-containing air, comprises a plurality of discharging electrodes 71 supported on a support body 70 and earth electrodes 60, provided, across gaps G for causing the corona discharge, between the discharging electrodes 71 respectively, which have a plurality of circulation holes H through which the dust-containing air circulated through the gaps G is passed.
