Summary:To provide a vehicle-mounted communication system, a vehicle-mounted relay device, a communication program, and a communication method, allowing for smooth message transmission and reception between multiple vehicle-mounted relay devices.SOLUTION: The vehicle-mounted communication system includes two vehicle-mounted relay devices, having a plurality of connection units to which communication lines are connected, for relaying transmission and reception of messages via a plurality of communication lines connected to the connection units. The two vehicle-mounted relay devices are connected via two or more communication lines. A vehicle-mounted relay device has a message transmission unit for transmitting a message to be transmitted to another vehicle-mounted relay device by selecting one communication line from the two or more communication lines in a predetermined order. The two vehicle-mounted relay devices are connected via two communication lines.
