Summary:To provide a masonry joint material removal method that enables increase in width dimension value of a joint gap during each replacement of the masonry joint material to be prevented as much as possible, allows for simplification of a masonry joint material removal process, and enables a masonry joint material to be removed in a period of time as short as possible.SOLUTION: The masonry joint material removal method is provided in which a masonry joint material 7 installed in a slender clearance 5 between one concrete pavement slab 3A and the other concrete pavement slab 3B is removed using an elastic masonry joint material removal blade 23 that is formed in a discoidal shape and that has a cutting blade part 31 formed on an outer periphery. When the masonry joint material removal blade 23 is rotated while biting into the masonry joint material 7 to remove the masonry joint material 7, a part of the masonry joint material removal blade 23 bites into the masonry joint material 7 in a boundary between the masonry joint material 7 and the concrete pavement slab 3. A part of the cutting blade part 31 of the masonry joint material removal blade 23 biting thereinto abuts on a side surface of the concrete pavement slab 3 with an urging force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】目地材を交換する毎に目地用間隙の幅寸法の値が大きくなることを極力防ぐことができるとともに、目地材の除去工程を簡素化でき、目地材の除去を極力短時間ですることができる目地材除去方法を提供する。【解決手段】一方のコンクリート舗装版３Ａと他方のコンクリート舗装版３Ｂとの間の細長い間隙５に設置されている目地材７を、円板状に形成されており外周に切れ刃部３１が形成されており弾性を備えた目地材除去刃２３を用いて除去する目地材除去方法において、目地材７を除去するために目地材除去刃２３を目地材７に食い込ませ回転しているときには、目地材除去刃２３の一部が目地材７とコンクリート舗装版３との境界のところで目地材７に食い込んでおり、この食い込んでいる目地材除去刃２３の切れ刃部３１の一部がコンクリート舗装版３の側面に付勢力をもって当接している。【選択図】図１
