To provide a small-sized insect catching apparatus that allows cleaning and maintenance to be performed more easily without touching insects that have been caught.SOLUTION: An insect catching apparatus 110 includes: an insect catching part 114 including an enclosure having an adhesion surface and a first opening 120, the adhesion surface being configured so as to be accommodated in the enclosure at least partially, and come in contact with insects; a base part 112 including an illumination element and an attaching part, the illumination element being configured so as to provide light to the insect catching part, and the attaching part being connected to a power source so as to receive power from the power source; and a first heating element connected to the power source. The insect catching part is detachably engaged with the base part, and is configured so as to receive the light from the base part when it is engaged with the base part.
