To provide a ground radio device capable of effectively preventing reduction in operation rate of a whole security system for railway control including the train operation and a method of controlling the same.SOLUTION: The ground radio device includes a power receiving unit for receiving power from the outside and outputting the received power and a transmission unit that is operated by power output from the power receiving unit to transmit control information to a pickup coil by radio.
