To provide a tape printer in which deformation of an attached tape cartridge is suppressed.SOLUTION: A tape printer has a cartridge attachment part 11, and a third detection member 71 which can come out from a bottom surface of the cartridge attachment part 11 and to which a force is applied in a direction projecting from the bottom surface of the cartridge attachment part 11. The printer comprises a sensor which outputs a first detection signal in such a manner that when a first tape cartridge is attached to the cartridge attachment part 11, the third detection member 71 is pushed by the first tape cartridge and is immersed, and outputs a second detection signal different from the first detection signal in such a manner that when a second tape cartridge is attached to the cartridge attachment part 11, the third detection member 71 is maintained in a projection state. The third detection member 71 pushes a position overlapping with a peripheral wall part of a depth side wall part viewed from an attachment direction depth side in the state that the third detection member is pushed by the first tape cartridge attached to the cartridge attachment part 11 and is immersed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】装着されたテープカートリッジを変形させることが抑制されたテープ印刷装置を提供する。【解決手段】カートリッジ装着部１１と、カートリッジ装着部１１の底面から出没可能であり、カートリッジ装着部１１の底面から突出する方向に力が付与された第３検出部材７１を有し、カートリッジ装着部１１に第１のテープカートリッジが装着された際に第３検出部材７１が第１のテープカートリッジに押されて没入することで第１検出信号を出力し、カートリッジ装着部１１に第２のテープカートリッジが装着された際に第３検出部材７１が突出したままとなることで第１検出信号とは異なる第２検出信号を出力するセンサーとを備え、第３検出部材７１は、カートリッジ装着部１１に装着された第１のテープカートリッジにより押されて没入した状態で、奥側壁部のうち、装着方向奥側から見て周壁部と重複する位置を押す。【選択図】図９
