Summary:To improve accuracy for correcting variation of light emitting amount of a surface light emitting element while suppressing complication of a circuit.SOLUTION: A drive current setting section 421 which adjusts a drive current value to be supplied to a drive section 303 for each surface light emitting element array chip 1 to 29 and controls light emitting amount of the surface light emitting elements of the surface light emitting element array chips 1 to 29 adjusts the drive current value so that a difference between light emitting amount of the surface light emitting elements for outputting light emitting amount to be a reference on the basis of the light emitting amount of the surface light emitting elements in the surface light emitting element array chips 1 to 29 and target light amount is reduced and controls the light emitting amount of the surface light emitting elements, for each surface light emitting element array chip 1 to 29. An image adjustment section 404 which adjusts image data for causing the surface light emitting elements to emit light and controls the light emitting amount of the surface light emitting elements controls the image data so that a difference between light emitting amount of each surface light emitting element when the surface light emitting element in each surface light emitting element array chip 1 to 29 is turned on by the drive current value adjusted by the drive current setting section 421 and target light amount is reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】回路の複雑化を抑制しつつ、面発光素子の発光量のばらつきを補正する精度を向上させること。【解決手段】駆動部303に供給する駆動電流値を面発光素子アレイチップ1〜29毎に調整して、面発光素子アレイチップ1〜29の面発光素子の発光量を制御する駆動電流設定部421は、面発光素子アレイチップ1〜29毎に、面発光素子アレイチップ1〜29内の面発光素子の発光量に基づいて基準となる発光量を出力する面発光素子の発光量と目標光量との差分が小さくなるように駆動電流値を調整して、面発光素子の発光量を制御し、面発光素子を発光させる画像データを調整して、面発光素子の発光量を制御する画像調整部404は、駆動電流設定部421で調整した駆動電流値で各面発光素子アレイチップ1〜29内の面発光素子を点灯させたときの各面発光素子の発光量と目標光量との差分が小さくなるように、画像データを制御する。【選択図】図4
