To provide a sheathing material having a good curling property capable of firmly covering an object with a high winding stress, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a sheathing material 20 having the good curling property comprises a first step (a) of manufacturing a laminated sheet 10 by providing a layer 12 made of a rubber composition on a resin film 11, a second step (b) of primarily vulcanizing the rubber composition after winding the laminated sheet 10 around a core rod 13, and a third step (c) of secondarily vulcanizing a primarily vulcanized rubber composition after removing the resin film 11 from the laminated sheet 10 wound around the core rod 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】巻応力が強く対象物を強固に被覆することが可能な巻き癖を有する被覆材及びその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】樹脂フィルム１１上に、ゴム組成物からなる層１２を設けて積層シート１０を作製する第一の工程（ａ）と、積層シート１０を芯棒１３に巻き付けた後、ゴム組成物を一次加硫する第二の工程（ｂ）と、芯棒１３に巻き付けられた積層シート１０から樹脂フィルム１１を除去した後、一次加硫されたゴム組成物を二次加硫する第三の工程（ｃ）と、によって巻き癖のある被覆材２０を製造する。【選択図】図１
