Summary:To provide an image formation device which can adjust a thickness of a graphic character and an image formation method therefor, and a program.SOLUTION: An image formation device 110, which processes a printing job comprising PDL, generates an object for each drawing command unit which is included in the PDL at a PDL analysis part 202, and when the generated object is a graphic object, performs rendering of the object at a thickening part 205, and generates an image A which is a mask image. Further, the device generates images B to D in which an image A is shifted in an x direction, a y direction, a z direction respectively by one pixel at the thickening part 205, and performs logic synthesis of the images A to D, thereby generating a final image 750.
