Summary:To provide a shock absorber which can secure rigidity and achieve weight reduction.SOLUTION: A cylindrical outer cylinder 113 for accommodating a shock-absorbing mechanism has a pair of knuckle attachment parts 104a, 104b which are arranged integrally with the outer cylinder 113, and protrude in one direction side from an outer face of the outer cylinder 113. The pair of knuckle attachment parts 104a, 104b oppose each other at wide-width faces, and the wide-width faces are arranged along an axial direction of the outer cylinder 113. When setting a thickness of the outer cylinder 113 on a side of the knuckle attachment parts 104a, 104b on a virtual line for connecting opposing face middle parts of the pair of knuckle attachment parts 104, 104b and a center axis of the outer cylinder 113 as ta, and setting a thickness of the outer cylinder 113 on a side opposite to the knuckle attachment parts 104a, 104b with respect to the center axis of the outer cylinder 113 as tc, the outer cylinder 113 has a wall thickness part which satisfies a relationship of ta>tc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】強度を確保すると共に、軽量化を図ることのできるショックアブゾーバを提供する。【解決手段】緩衝機構を収容する筒状の外筒113は、外筒113と一体に設けられ、外筒113の外面から一方向側に突出した一対のナックル取付け部104a、104bを有している。一対のナックル取付け部104a、104bは、それぞれ幅広面を対向させ、幅広面が外筒113の軸方向に沿って設ける。一対のナックル取付け部104a、104bの対向面中間と外筒113の中心軸とを結ぶ仮想線上におけるナックル取付け部104a、104b側の外筒113の厚さをtaとし、外筒113の中心軸に対してナックル取付け部104a、104bの反対側における外筒113の厚さをtcとした場合に、外筒113は、ta>tcの関係を満たす肉厚部を有している。【選択図】 図3
