Summary:To provide a micron-sized diamond abrasive grains having an average particle diameter of 40 microns or less, which has a sharp edge generated by impact crushing and an improved crushing property due to an increase in internal defects so as to simultaneously achieve high processing speed and fine processing finish roughness in fine precision processing of electronic components and the like.SOLUTION: There is provided a super fine abrasive having a highly irregular shape, which is consisting of an aggregate of sized super fine particles, has an angular shape given by the impact crushing process, and has an average value of the aspect ratio of 0.74 or less which is defined as a value obtained by dividing the minor axis length in the projected figure with the major axis length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 本発明は、衝撃破砕によって生じた鋭いエッジを有し、また内部欠陥の増加による破砕性の向上も併せ持つことによって、特に電子部品等の微細精密加工において大きな加工速度と細かな仕上げ面粗さとを同時に達成しうる、平均粒径40ミクロン以下のミクロンサイズダイヤモンド砥粒の提供を主な目的とする。【解決手段】 整粒された超砥粒粒子の集合体からなり、個々の粒子が衝撃破砕工程により付与された角張った形状を呈し、かつ投影図形における短軸長さを長軸長さで除した値と定義されるアスペクト比の平均値が0.74以下であることを特徴とする、高度の不規則形状を有する超砥粒研磨材。【選択図】図1
