Summary:To provide a sintered bearing showing an excellent life characteristic under a condition of high frequency and/or high surface pressure, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A sintered bearing exhibits a metal structure having a metal matrix and a hard phase 22 that is dispersed in the metal matrix and harder than the metal matrix. The difference in hardness between the metal matrix and the hard phase 22 is 290 to 650 HV. The average diameter of the hard phase is 5 to 100 μm.
