Summary:To provide a method of designing a control logic of a compression ignition type engine.SOLUTION: A control part of an engine 1 outputs a signal to each of a fuel injection part and a variable valve mechanism to make a G/F leaner than a theoretical air-fuel ratio and an A/F equal to or richer than the theoretical air-fuel ratio, and a signal to an ignition part so that after the ignition part ignites an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber, an unburned air-fuel mixture burns with self ignition. A method of designing a control logic includes the steps of defining a boost pressure P by a super charger, and determining a control logic defining a valve closing timing IVC of an intake valve. The valve closing timing IVC(deg. aBDC) is defined so as to satisfy that the boost pressure P(kPa) is P≥8.0×10-IVC-1.0×10IVC+3.0×10IVC-4.0×10IVC+0.0068IVC-0.3209IVC+116.63.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 23 【課題】圧縮着火式エンジンの制御ロジックを設計する方法を提供する。【解決手段】エンジン1の制御部は、G/Fが理論空燃比よりもリーンでかつA/Fが理論空燃比又は理論空燃比よりもリッチになるよう燃料噴射部及び可変動弁機構のそれぞれに信号を出力すると共に、点火部が燃焼室内の混合気に点火した後で未燃混合気が自己着火により燃焼するよう点火部に信号を出力する。制御ロジックを設計する方法は、過給機による過給圧Pを定めるステップと、吸気弁の閉弁タイミングIVCを定めた制御ロジックを決定するステップと、を備える。過給圧P(kPa)が、P≧8.0×10-11IVC6−1.0×10-8IVC5+3.0×10-7IVC4−4.0×10-6IVC3+0.0068IVC2−0.3209IVC+116.63を満足するように、閉弁タイミングIVC(deg.aBDC)を定める。【選択図】図23
