Summary:To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine which can suppress the generation of a torque shock after a finish of the learning of a control value of a variable valve gear.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 comprises an intake-side variable valve gear 13 for changing the valve timing of an intake valve 9 by an operation of an intake-side oil control valve 14. When setting an engine drive region in which the valve timing is changed according to an engine drive state as an operation region of the intake-side variable valve gear 13, a control device 100 performs learning processing for learning a holding duty ratio of the intake-side oil control valve 14 necessary for holding the valve timing in the operation region. When the learning of the holding duty ratio is not finished, the control device 100 performs expansion processing for expanding the operation region compared with the case that the learning is finished, and when the internal combustion engine is brought into a state that an intake air quantity reaches a prescribed value or smaller after a finish of the learning of the holding duty ratio, the control device performs processing for finishing the expansion processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】可変動弁装置の制御値の学習が完了した後にトルクショックが発生することを抑えることのできる内燃機関の制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】内燃機関1は、吸気側オイルコントロールバルブ14の作動を通じて吸気バルブ9のバルブタイミングを変更する吸気側可変動弁装置13を備える。バルブタイミングを機関運転状態に応じて変更する機関運転領域を吸気側可変動弁装置13の作動領域としたときに、制御装置100は、バルブタイミングを保持するために必要な吸気側オイルコントロールバルブ14の保持デューティ比を作動領域において学習する学習処理を実行する。この制御装置100は、保持デューティ比の学習が完了していないときには、学習が完了しているときに比べて作動領域を拡大する拡大処理を実行するとともに、保持デューティ比の学習が完了した後に吸入空気量が予め定めた所定値以下の状態になると拡大処理を終了させる処理を実行する。【選択図】図1
