Summary:To provide feed for producing, without using genetic defects or drugs, NASH-induced experimental animals that show a pathological condition closer to that of NASH, the feed being a feed for NASH-induced experimental animal which does not affect the growth of experimental animals, to provide methods for producing the same and to provide methods for making NASH model animals.SOLUTION: Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis-induced experimental animal feed containing 35-60 mass% of carbohydrate source, 10-25 mass% of amino acid source, 15-35 mass% of fats and oils, and 3-8 mass% of minerals and/or metal salts, contains (i) 0.05 to 0.4 mass% of methionine as the amino acid source, (ii) 0.01 mass% or less of cholines, and (iii) 0.05 to 0.5 mass% of an iron compound as the minerals and/or metal salts. There are also provided a method for producing the same and a method for producing non-alcoholic steatohepatitis model animals.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】遺伝子欠損や薬剤を用いることなく、NASHの病態により近い病態を示すNASH誘発実験動物を作出するための飼料であって、且つ実験動物の生育に影響を与えない、NASH誘発実験動物用飼料およびその製造方法、並びにNASHモデル動物の作出方法を提供する。【解決手段】炭水化物源35〜60質量%、アミノ酸源10〜25質量%、油脂類15〜35質量%、並びにミネラル類および/または金属塩類3〜8質量%を含有する非アルコール性脂肪肝炎誘発実験動物用飼料において、(i)前記アミノ酸源として、メチオニン0.05〜0.4質量%を含有し、(ii)コリン類の含有量が0.01質量%以下であり、(iii)前記ミネラル類および/または金属塩類として、鉄化合物0.05〜0.5質量%を含有する実験動物用飼料およびその製造方法、並びに非アルコール性脂肪肝炎モデル動物の作出方法である。【選択図】なし
