Summary:To provide a method for measuring out-of-plane wrinkles of a composite laminate.SOLUTION: The method includes scanning a first side of a composite laminate with an ultrasonic transducer. The method further includes locating the out-of-plane wrinkles of the composite laminate in the B-scan ultrasound image 600 generated in response to scanning the first side of the composite laminate. The method further includes associating a first marker determined based on the location of the top portion of the out-of-plane wrinkles in the B-scan ultrasound image to the B-scan ultrasound image 600. The method further includes associating a second marker determined based on the location of the concave focal point of the out-of-plane wrinkles in the B-scan ultrasound image in the B-scan ultrasound image.
