The head discharges an ink onto a printing surface of a recording medium delivered from a nozzle, and prints an image on the basis of image data. The move part moves the head in a Z axis direction which is a height direction when the printing surface of the recording medium is so made as to be front face. The control part, which sets a discharge time interval which is an interval between the nozzle and the printing surface of the recording medium, moves the head to the move part in the Z axis direction, and maintains the same at the discharge time interval such that a distance between the nozzle and the printing surface is set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 19 【課題】ヘッドの移動方向の制限によるデメリットを解消し、布を高画質、高濃度、かつ、ムラなく印刷する。【解決手段】インク吐出装置は、ヘッド、移動部、制御部を含む。ヘッドは、画像データに基づき、ノズルから搬送される記録媒体の印刷面にインクを吐出して画像を印刷する。移動部は、記録媒体の印刷面を正面としたときの高さ方向であるZ軸方向でヘッドを移動させる。制御部は、ノズルと記録媒体の印刷面との間隔である吐出時間隔を設定する制御部は、Z軸方向でヘッドを移動部に移動させ、ノズルと印刷面の距離を設定した吐出時間隔で維持する。【選択図】図19
