To print a chart for adjustment easy to determine deviation amount and deviation direction of a printing position of each head in a sub-scanning direction.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device includes: a paper conveyance section; a storage section; a line head; and a control section. The line head has an upstream side head and a downstream side head. The upstream side head and the downstream side head which are adjacent to each other are mounted so that a plurality of nozzles arranged at an end of each head have overlapping sections overlapping each other viewed from a sub-scanning direction. When adjustment printing for printing a chart for adjustment is performed, the control section causes the nozzles in the overlapping sections of the upstream side head to print a first line.
