Summary:To provide: a spherical silicon oxide fine particle that is suitable as a negative electrode material for lithium secondary battery; a spherical hydrogen polysilsesquioxane fine particle as a precursor thereof; and methods for producing them.SOLUTION: A hydrogen polysilsesquioxane fine particle having a volume-based cumulative 50% particle diameter D50 in the particle size distribution of less than 1 mm and a substantially spherical shape is provided. The production method includes, in a solution system in which a silicon compound represented by HSi(R)(in which R is a hydrolyzable functional group, where R may be the same or different from each other) is present, hydrolyzing and polycondensing the silicon compound as well as proceeding phase separation of the solution system, to form a hydrogen polysilsesquioxane fine particle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】リチウム二次電池用負極材として好適な球状ケイ素酸化物微粒子と、その前駆体となる球状水素ポリシルセスキオキサン微粒子、ならびにそれらの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】粒度分布における体積基準累積50%粒子径D50が1mm未満でありかつ略球状である、水素ポリシルセスキオキサン微粒子が提供される。その製造方法は、HSi(R)3(式中、Rは、加水分解性を有する官能基であり、但し、Rは互いに同一であってもよく又は異なってもよい。)で表されるケイ素化合物が存在する溶液系において、該ケイ素化合物を加水分解及び重縮合させると共に該溶液系の相分離を進行させ、水素ポリシルセスキオキサン微粒子を生成させる。【選択図】図1
