To provide a honeycomb filter capable of effectively suppressing the exfoliation and damage of a plugged part disposed so as to plug an opening of a cell.SOLUTION: A honeycomb filter comprises: a columnar honeycomb structure 4 having a porous partition wall 1 located so as to surround a plurality of cells 2; and a plugged part 5 disposed at the opening end part of the cell 2. When the porosity (%) of the partition wall 1 is denoted as P1, the porosity (%) of the plugged part 5 is denoted as P2 and the occupancy (%) of the partition wall 1 to a cross sectional area orthogonal to a direction extending the cell 2 of the honeycomb structure 4 is denoted as N1, P1 is 50-65%, P2 is 60-70% and N1 is 22-39% and X expressed as following equation (1) satisfies a relationship of following equation (2) (where, equation (1): X=P1/P2×N1; and equation (2): 18.80≤-0.19X+11.33X-121.63≤50.50).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】セルの開口部を目封止するように配設された目封止部の剥落や破損を有効に抑制することが可能なハニカムフィルタを提供する。【解決手段】複数のセル２を取り囲むように配置された多孔質の隔壁１を有する柱状のハニカム構造体４と、セル２の開口端部に配設された目封止部５と、を備え、隔壁１の気孔率（％）を、Ｐ１とし、目封止部５の気孔率（％）を、Ｐ２とし、ハニカム構造体４のセル２の延びる方向に直交する断面の面積に対する、隔壁１の占有率（％）を、Ｎ１とし、Ｐ１は、５０〜６５％であり、Ｐ２は、６０〜７０％であり、Ｎ１は、２２〜３９％であり、且つ、下記式（１）で表されるＸが、下記式（２）の関係を満たす。式（１）：Ｘ＝Ｐ１／Ｐ２×Ｎ１式（２）：１８．８０≦−０．１９Ｘ２＋１１．３３Ｘ−１２１．６３≦５０．５０【選択図】図１
