To provide a guard system and guard method that efficiently keep guard in consideration of the condition of a standby guard.SOLUTION: A control center 50 manages a condition of an on-duty guard who is guarding in an object-of-guarding area, and a condition of a standby guard who is on standby in an anteroom or is moving prior to or subsequently to standby. When occurrence of an incident within the object-of-guarding area is detected, the on-duty guard is informed by priority that he/she should cope with the incident. When the on-duty guard fails to cope with the incident, the standby guard is informed that he/she should cope with the incident. Thus, while the condition of the standby guard is taken into account, guarding can be efficiently achieved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】待機中の警備員の状況を考慮しつつ、効率良く警備を行う警備システム及び警備方法を提供すること。【解決手段】警備対象領域で警備を行っている警備中警備員の状態と、控え室で待機している若しくは待機前後の移動を行っている待機中警備員の状態とをコントロールセンタ５０が管理し、警備対象領域内でのインシデントの発生を検知した場合には、警備中警備員に優先的に対処通知を行い、警備中警備員では対処できない場合には待機中警備員に対処通知を行うことで、待機中の警備員の状況を考慮しつつ、効率良く警備を行うことができる。【選択図】図１
