Summary:To provide an inventory quantity transition simulation method that can predict the transition of the inventory quantity by product type in a practical calculation time without the necessity of determining the transportation rules for each situation in detail.SOLUTION: An inventory quantity transition simulation method according to the present invention is the inventory quantity transition simulation method for predicting a transition of an inventory quantity of intermediate products in a storage area provided for a production line and a transportation line, and includes; a step of inputting input information including information on the quantity of intermediate products and route information between storage places through which the intermediate products can pass; a step of creating a mathematical model including constraint expressions and evaluation functions based on the input information; and a step of outputting the transition of the inventory quantity of the intermediate product at the storage location based on the created mathematical model.
