To provide a railway vehicle in which comfortableness of use of a passenger compartment by an older person or the like is improved.SOLUTION: A railway vehicle 1 is provided with a door 5 which opens/closes a doorway 4 of an inner wall surface 3 of a passenger compartment 2. In this railway vehicle, a handrail part 10 extends on the inner wall surface 3 in a lateral direction from a periphery of a side edge 6 of the doorway 4 to either of a seat 8 installed on the inner wall surface 3 or a peripheral part of the seat 8, and therefore, an older person or the like can easily move between the doorway 4 and the seat 8 by moving laterally through the use of the handrail 10 while leaving weight on the handrail 10 which laterally extends, and thus, comfortableness of use of the passenger compartment 2 by the older person or the like is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】高齢者等による車室の利用の快適さが向上する鉄道車両を提供する。【解決手段】車室２の内壁面３の出入口４を開閉するドア５が設けられた鉄道車両１において、内壁面３において出入口４の側縁６の周辺から内壁面３に設置された座席８及び座席８の周辺の部位のいずれかまで手摺部１０が横方向に延在するため、高齢者等が横方向に延在する手摺部１０に体重を預けつつ、手摺部１０を横方向に伝うことにより、出入口４と座席８との間を容易に移動することができ、高齢者等による車室２の利用の快適さが向上する。【選択図】図１
