Summary:To suppress the precipitation of lithium metal on a negative electrode plate, which is attributed to a non-sticky region provided on an insulating tape.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode body including a positive electrode plate 11 having a positive electrode mixture layer 11a containing a positive electrode active material, a separator 13 and a negative electrode plate 12; a nonaqueous electrolyte; and a battery case in which the electrode body and the nonaqueous electrolyte are encased. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, an insulating tape 50 is stuck to an end 11d of the positive electrode plate 11 in a longitudinal direction. The insulating tape 50 has a base material 52 and a sticky layer 54 provided on the base material, and it has a non-sticky region 56 on the base material 52, where the sticky layer is not formed.
