To suppress the precipitation of lithium metal on a negative electrode plate, which is attributed to a non-sticky region provided on an insulating tape.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode body including a positive electrode plate 11 having a positive electrode mixture layer 11a containing a positive electrode active material, a separator 13 and a negative electrode plate 12; a nonaqueous electrolyte; and a battery case in which the electrode body and the nonaqueous electrolyte are encased. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, an insulating tape 50 is stuck to an end 11d of the positive electrode plate 11 in a longitudinal direction. The insulating tape 50 has a base material 52 and a sticky layer 54 provided on the base material, and it has a non-sticky region 56 on the base material 52, where the sticky layer is not formed. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a lithium release-suppressing part 62 is provided in the positive electrode mixture layer 11a in the vicinity of an end 60 of the non-sticky region 56 of the base material 52; the release of lithium ions is suppressed in the lithium release-suppressing part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】絶縁テープに非粘着領域を設けたことに起因する負極板上でのリチウム金属の析出を抑制する。【解決手段】非水電解質二次電池は、正極活物質を含有する正極合剤層１１ａを有する正極板１１、セパレータ１３、および負極板１２を含む電極体と、非水電解質と、電極体と非水電解質を収容する電池ケースとを備える。正極板１１の長手方向の端部１１ｄに絶縁テープ５０が貼り付けられている。絶縁テープ５０は、基材５２と基材上に設けられた粘着層５４とを有し、かつ、基材５２上に粘着層が形成されていない非粘着領域５６を有する。基材５２の非粘着領域５６の端部６０の近傍に位置する正極合剤層１１ａに、リチウムイオンの放出が抑制されているリチウム放出抑制部６２を設けた。【選択図】図５
